Hollywood Trip

A few weeks ago I headed down to LA/Hollywood to hang out poolside & visit friends. It was 77 degrees in the middle of January, crazy weather even for LA at this time of year. The ladies took full advantage of the vitamin D that was available. (My doctor said I needed it!) I met some really great people down there...all transplants of course and we played as you should when staying in Hollywood.

Myself, Michelle, & Boston Jenny

We stayed at the W Hollywood Residences. Our friend is selling the condo's that attach to the hotel. Part of his compensation package is FREE boarding in one of the condos...that are selling for $1M+
There are a few different celebrities that currently own here...a few that were pretty fun names! There are about 10 model condos that were designed by some top name Interior Designers. Craig thought they were too much, I appreciated the expensive furniture and great style! Check them out HERE or to purchase one feel free to let me know & I know a guy that can help you through your process.

The real reason why I went down was to go check out our good friends new restaurant, Haven Gastropub. If you are ever in Pasadena or Downtown Orange you have got to go check this place out. It is hands down one of my favorite places. We went & had a nice group dinner with Ace (the owner/friend) and sampled 75% of the menu. I've been waiting to do this since this place opened. He did not disappoint either, everything was SO so So good!

We had a great time, had too much fun most nights, and caught up with great people. I can't wait to go back!

The Snow Made Me Do It!

I've been trying REALLY hard to avoid the temptation of eating sweets as it is visibly showing on my figure! But, I was reading Nikki's blog and she told me when it snows you bake, and since it has not stopped snowing since Tuesday this is what happened!

I used the Martha Stewart Recipe and reduced it by 3/4 to only make 6 cupcakes instead of 24! She always manages to fine some way to make this baking thing complex! They turned out really good so I suppose it was worth it.

Now...if we could just get this white stuff off the road!

Oh Christmas Tree

On Saturday we headed to the Carnation Tree Farm (part of our "Shop Local Saturday"initiative) to go find our perfect Christmas tree for our new place. It was a wonderful tree farm with over 10 types of Christmas trees to choose from as well as great prices! They also have fresh kettle corn, a espresso stand, and santa that will take pictures with your hound!
My sister Alli found our tree. He was sitting all along and didn't look like much...Alli could see past this though.

We scored big time...this tree was marked as a 7/8 ft tree as was really a 9/10 foot tree. I thought we needed something bigger but come to find out it was just the right size.
The final product. I love it. It reminds me of the Pottery Barn tree, exactly the look I was going for!

Elegant Fall Wedding

This past fall I got the pleasure of working with Carrie & Scott on their November wedding. It was held at the Pioneer Park Pavilion on Puyallup. It was a beautiful setting with a great industrial feel with the softness of the timber.

Carrie was my babysitter when I was a little girl! Crazy, but it was SO cool to be able to share their day with them and their family. Carrie wanted the dark fall colors, reds, purples, and oranges. I also incorporated the bountiful fall fruits (apples & pears) in the arrangements as well.

Summer wedding at Willows Lodge

This past August I had the pleasure of working with Derek & Sarah on their August wedding at Willows Lodge in Woodinville.

Sarah wanted a lot of color without going overboard so we went with white & green as her main colors then threw in pink, and teal as accents. I was a little worried how it was going to turn out but I feel we both got what we were looking for as an end result!

It was a beautifully HOT day, perfect for an outdoor ceremony!

Golden Hearts Luncheon

I was asked to do the floral design for the Northwest Center-Golden Hearts Luncheon, I was truly honored to get to work with such an amazing organization. It was a great event with over 600 attendees!!

I wanted to create an indian summer look that incorporated the colors of the season with Sunflowers, blackberries, roses, hydrangeas, and calla lilies.

Meet Martin

I promise I've had good reason to disappear from this blog...his name is Martin! He is a Maltese-Bichon Frise mix and was born on Mother's Day (May 8, 2011). We are in LOVE with our little man.

The day we brought him home.

His FIRST Starbucks outing

Masculin Master Bedrooms

I have been working on a few different projects lately for some new clients.
This client lives in a Studio in downtown Seattle. He currently has a Murphy bed but doesn't like anything about it and is hoping to achieve a look that reflects a Luxury hotel room. He has great big glass doors that open up to a deck and gets really nice light at in the late afternoon but we still needed to lighten it up for the morning, night, and grey Seattle days.

Here's what I came up with.

Interior Designers Share Their Favorite Wall Colors, $40
Ampersand® Color Block Duvet Cover - Slate, 100% Cotton Sateen - Bed..., $100

Herbal Wedding

Incorporating herbs can be such a "fresh" and inexpensive way to add texture to your wedding. Here are a few ways to use them outside of your garden.

This bouquet has Ornamental oregano, lavender, rosemary, white kale, lavender hyacinth, flowering onions, white sweet pea, scented geranium, blue scabiosa, star of Bethlehem, and honey myrtle wrapped in ivory lace and a string of vintage pearls.

This next one could be a fun if you had the table number attached to it.

This one is fantastic. It's SO simple but makes such a great statement. Use it at home, weddings, or corporate events. They are Terra Cotta pots spray painted silver. LOVE it!
